Maxine Shore was born in New York and educated at Chatham College, Middlebury College, the Sorbonne in Paris and Parsons School of Design. After teaching art and French for twenty-five years, she turned to full-time oil painting.

The recipient of many awards, she has shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions, with paintings held in private and corporate collections. A member of the Artists' Gallery in Lambertville, New Jersey, she resides in East Windsor.
