Joan Gil Raga (b. Granollers, 1955) has lived most of his life in Alcanar, Tarragona. His passion for photography began early, shaped by his father, and deepened in 2002 when, living beside the Ebro Delta, he turned to nature and bird photography and became a Spanish pioneer of digiscoping.

Decades of travel — from the Falklands and Iceland to Antarctica and beyond — have enriched his work, as has his founding of La Nau de Fotografia in 2011. His more recent DropArt and gyotaku projects reflect a restless curiosity at the meeting point of photography, craft and fine art.
