Doris Schmitz
FASHION ILLUSTRATOR
Doris Schmitz is a figurative artist and fashion illustrator known for an experimental, unmistakably handwritten line. She trained at the Bauhaus art schools in Berlin and Braunschweig and earned an MA in Design at the Royal College of Art in London, and the legacies of Expressionism, Dada, Constructivism and Art Nouveau — together with the Vienna Secession of Klimt and Schiele — run visibly through her work.
Her fascination with the human figure, clothed or unclothed, and her passion for fabric, texture and sculptural garments have carried her across international projects with houses including Max Mara, Lanvin, Nina Ricci and Burberry.
