Delphine Devos approaches photography as a quiet successor to painting. The daughter of a painter, she grew up watching her father work and long aspired to the canvas before discovering that the camera offered her own language of light, colour and mood.

Drawn to the emotion that lives just beneath the surface of an image, she composes photographs that ask to be read twice, finding the words hidden within a picture and translating private feeling into atmosphere.
